Okay, so I've become hopelessly obsessed with Sandman. To the point that I'd rather read than eat or sleep.

That's not a good thing, right?

In all seriousness, though, I'm truly loving it. I've spent the past few days reading Absolute Sandman and have gotten through volume one and most of volume two (I'm trying to make it last until volume three shows up), and I can't wait to see what happens next! Normally, I'm not a fan of Gaiman's writing--it's not really to my taste--but this is just... guh. I can't put it down. I'm going to be so sad when I finish it. ;A;

I really wish I could get my motivation for art back. It's been about a year and a half since I last drew anything, when I used to at least sketch every day. I can't seem to be happy with anything I do, though.

Maybe I should just... pick up a pencil and start sketching a little bit every day again. Maybe doing so will get me back into it, and I can go back to ~creating~, even if it's not OMG THE BEST ART EVAR. It's only a hobby, anyway.

*dusts off cobwebs* Sup, LJ? I'm trying to get back into the swing of using this thing. Up until a few months ago, I was at least checking my friends list regularly, but I honestly haven't touched it since then. I'm sure I've missed a lot of important developments in people's lives. I hope everyone is generally doing well, though. <3

For me, things haven't changed much in that time. I don't have many new things to talk about, at least not publicly, so there will probably be a lot of fannish or RP-related squeeing in here, since I don't have much else going on at the moment, other than work. Consider this an invitation to reverse friends-cut with no hard feelings, if you'd rather not listen to it.

Man, I wish it were possible to somehow get the logs back from the Evo RP Tif and I had on GreatestJournal. 8( I even went to the e-mail address I had the notifs going to, but Yahoo purged everything before 2007, and the RP happened in 2004.

WHY DID YOU DIE, GREATESTJOURNAL? I wish I'd had the foresight to back everything up...

In somewhat related news, while looking for the old notifs, I got sidetracked by the old e-mails Tif had sent me in 2002/2003 (I put them in a save folder, so they survived the purge). We acted like a couple before we were even a couple. 8|

Today was a lazy day. I actually did a few useful things, though, like make dinner, but other than that... Yeah, it was pretty much ON MY BUTT ALL DAY. It was great. 8D

Iiii have a new livejournal layout! I only changed it about a month or so ago, but I wanted to go with something wasn't fandom-related, and I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it. I made a few changes, and there are still a few tweaks I'd like to do, but for the most part, I'm satisfied. With it I have a new mood theme! Whoo.

In other news, I've temporarily switched my browser to Google Chrome because Firefox has been eating up my resources like a mofo. The last time I used Chrome, my computer didn't seem to take to it very well, so I was back on FF within a day or two, but so far so good this time! I only wish they had a plugin that was equivalent to LJLogin. Fortunately, I've only been using idgiebay and attorney_at_lol lately, so I'm using the double browser trick for now. If anyone has any experience with making plugins, the person who made LJLogin says they have no problem with someone writing a version for Chrome, though they have no plans to do it themselves.

To make this entry less useless, an update on my external hard drive...

The Geek Squad could do nothing for me, other than tell me they could send the drive to their headquarters, at which point someone would assess the damage and call me to give me an estimate that could range from $250 to $1500. LMAO.

I was using the trial version of a recovery program, which was able to find all of my files and folders but couldn't transfer them anywhere because... it was a trial version. I'm thinking of buying it and doing the recovery myself, but I'm going to try one other thing. My mom suggested giving the drive to the guys that run our network at work and seeing if they can do the recovery, because they might do it for free. That would be ace. o3ob

If not... Well, I'm not going to let myself get upset about it anymore. There are a lot of irreplaceable things, like old artwork, but most of my art is up on DA. The only problem is I wouldn't have access to the PSD files, but... c'est la vie. I WILL GET THROUGH THIS.
